A few weeks back, I happened upon a house with a Passat W8 and a Touareg V10 TDI in the driveway. Double unicorn! I left a friendly note with my contact info and heard nothing...until today.
When I got in this morning, I had an email from the owner. He seems like a nice dude, and a hardcore VW fan. His first VW was a classic Beetle. The W8 has, surprisingly, been an absolute peach thanks to regular, attentive, and very involved maintenance. The Touareg, however, was a major headache in its first few years, until a wiring harness replacement sorted all of the issues. It's been a champ since then.
I'm going to try to convince him to bring his rides to Cars and Coffee next. There's just so much more I want to ask him.

I love everything about the V10 Touareg. It's just so hilarious; the torques, the abysmal mileage despite being a diesel.
So much want.

All he needs is a W-12 Phaeton to complete the VW weirdness trifecta.

This is Epic! For me at least, and makes me feel a tiny bit more confident of owning a weird VW. Its the maintenance you have to follow tediously, but the rewards will be amazing.
